The British state is compromised by its complicity with terrorists!

TORY leader Theresa May relaunched the sinking ship of her election campaign with a speech yesterday that re-hashed the now familiar line that the terrorist attacks in London and Manchester demonstrate that there is ‘too much tolerance of extremism’ in Britain, and that the only solution is more police powers, longer prison sentences for even ‘non-violent’ extremism and destroying the extremists in Syria and Iraq.

This position flies in the face of reality, as both the murderous attacks in Manchester and London have one common feature – the perpetrators of both were apparently well known to the security services who did absolutely nothing to disrupt their plans.

In the case of the Manchester bombings the man responsible, Salman Abedi, was well known to the security services. He was part of a right-wing Libyan exile group living in Manchester who travelled frequently to Libya along an MI5 ‘rat-line’ to take part in the imperialist inspired overthrow of the legitimate Libyan government of Colonel Gadaffi.

Known in Libya as ‘the Manchester boys’ they fought and trained alongside the terrorist organisation the Libyan Islamic Fighting Group closely associated with the Nusra Front and ISIS.

They were given free travel to Libya as ‘allies’ for British imperialism and allowed to return home where Abedi used his training to devastating effect.

It now transpires that the group who committed Saturday night’s murderous attack in London were also not ‘under the radar’ as May would have us believe. According to a report in yesterday’s Daily Telegraph the security forces had actually secretly tape recorded the ISIS group believed to be responsible.

The report alleges that this extremist cell, based in Barking, had been monitored for weeks before the attack, and a recording of the group discussing a plan to use a van as a weapon in an attack on London featured on YouTube. The Telegraph reports that one of the alleged attackers was recorded saying that the plot would mean driving at pedestrians then getting out and attacking others with knives – exactly what happened on Saturday.

While May bangs on about fighting terrorist ideology and even more draconian police powers, she studiously avoids the role of Saudi Arabia, which not only promotes the sectarian terrorist doctrine of Wahabism but is the main financial backer of ISIS and al-Qaeda.

Indeed, the Tory government licensed £5.6 billion in sales of arms, planes and assorted military hardware – to be used in the genocidal war in Yemen and to prepare for war against the two main targets for British and US imperialism in the region, Syria and Iran.

This will be another war to effect regime change, in which ISIS and Nusra Front will take part as allies of the Saudis and their imperialist backers. The Tories, the security services and indeed the entire British capitalist state is exposed as being completely compromised by these terrorists.

They have ‘tolerated’ and actively aided the terrorists; they have been complicit in the export of jihadist fighters to Syria, Libya and Iraq to fight on behalf of imperialism to overthrow the legitimate governments of these countries, then allowed them to return to Britain where they carried out more atrocities.

Nothing demonstrates the complete bankruptcy of capitalism in its final imperialist stage than this.

The only way to liberate the world from wars and terrorism is to liberate the world from its cause – capitalism in its barbaric and final stage of imperialism.

This means on June 8th kicking out May and the Tories and then the working class advancing rapidly from a Labour government to take power and bring in a workers government that will carry out socialist policies. These policies will end all involvement in imperialist wars of regime change and support the right of the people of the Middle East to determine their own leaders and governments.

Only the WRP is standing in the election on this socialist programme. Vote Labour to kick out the Tories, and vote WRP where we are standing and join the fight for socialism to put an end to imperialism for good.
