THE latest WikiLeaks release of US documents reveals the essence of US diplomacy, and it stinks to high heaven with its intense imperialist antagonism towards the rest of the planet, which is held to be getting in the way of the interests of US imperialism and has to be dealt with.
The leaks themselves would make a good training manual for mafia capos.
They deal with terrorist actions such as plans to ‘cut off the head of the snake’, meaning bombing the Iranian leadership and the Iranian people, or criminal actions such as demanding information about the relationship between gay Tory MPs and Tory cabinet ministers, or with using US diplomats at the UN as spies to try to obtain confidential information concerning the affairs of UN officials, as high as the secretary general. This is with a view to getting some leverage over them, through blackmail or other means.
The documents concerning the activities of US diplomats in the UN are signed by Mrs Clinton and Miss Rice, the Secretary of State under George W Bush, revealing that there is no difference between the Democrats and Republicans over the best way to show their contempt for the UN and its highest officials.
They reveal that US imperialism thinks that its allies are a cause for serous alarm, describing Sarkozy as an emperor without clothes, and denigrating both the current and the previous UK Prime Ministers as inadequate weaklings without substance.
So far, WikiLeaks has published on its site just 220 of 251,287 US ‘cables’.
Already it has been revealed that the King of Saudi Arabia and other Arab rulers have been continually urging the US to bomb Iran.
The King wanted the US ‘to cut the head off the snake’. The cable also reported that during a meeting between King Hamad bin Isa al-Khalifa of Bahrain and US General David Petraeus, the king told the US to stop Iran’s nuclear programme ‘by whatever means necessary’.
In a 2006 cable, the crown prince of Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Mohammad bin Zayed, told the US he believed Iranian President Mahmud Ahmadinejad was ‘going to take us to war’.
Further cables are expected to reveal that the Saudi ruler offered Israel safe passage through Saudi airspace if it wanted to use that space to bomb Iran.
Meanwhile, Israel’s Defence Minister, Ehud Barak, used a May 2009 visit by a Congressional delegation to Tel Aviv to warn that time was running out to stop Iran’s nuclear programme.
Here we have the Saudi and Gulf Arab rulers making common cause with the Zionist oppressors of the Palestinian people to wipe out a state that supports the struggle of the Palestinian people and is anti-imperialist. This action would leave the US all powerful in the Middle East and the Gulf, and leave the State of Israel riding high over the Palestinians, and in a position to take decisive military action against the Lebanese and Syria.
The documents reveal that the Arab ruling classes support imperialism and are more than prepared to work with, and give support to, and strengthen Israel against anti-imperialist Iran. In practice, they are opposing the establishment of a viable Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital and with its people having the right to return.
The documents also reveal the corruption within the Karzai puppet regime in Kabul with a senior government official found carrying more than $50m in cash on a trip to the Gulf.
US diplomacy, like US imperialism, is rotten to the core. Its allies in the Gulf and Central Asia are walking on the thinnest of ice. They will not be too happy with the WikiLeaks.
In fact, it is their regimes that will be overthrown in the period ahead by the revolutionary action of their peoples, while the Palestinian masses and the Iranian people will establish a Middle East and a Gulf region free from imperialism and rule by imperialist agents.
US gangster imperialism has feet of clay.
