THE KINGS of Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Swaziland were at a dinner for despots yesterday as part of the celebration of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.
Some are trying to present the invitations as a foul deed of the Foreign Office that is insisting in putting her majesty into an awkward position.
In fact, the opposite is the case. The royal family are perfectly at home in such company, and have made known publicly how at ease they feel when either giving hospitality to their fellow royals, or enjoying their hospitality in the course of numerous trips to the Middle East and Africa.
In fact, it is only natural for the Gulf States and Swazi monarchs, and many others, to gather around the royal person during the Diamond Jubilee since, after all, all of them in one way or another are creatures of British imperialist policy in the 20th century and, of course, they will be gathering under the Union Jack, which is known on the rest of the planet as the ‘Butcher’s Apron’.
The dinners and the celebrations are the show which cloaks the role that the Saudi and Bahraini monarchies are playing in the Gulf, where they are violently preventing any of their subjects enjoying democratic freedoms and killing them when they object.
Abroad, they are also playing a vital role in destroying Arab nationalist governments that have for some time been a thorn in the side of US and UK imperialism, and a very bad example to their subjects.
The Saudi, Bahraini and Qatari monarchies played a vital role in financing and arming the Libyan counter-revolutionaries, who swiftly metamorphosed from sections of Al Qaeda into NATO’s ground forces in the war to remove and murder the Gadaffi regime so that the West could steal Libya’s oil.
In the course of this, the absolute monarchies demonstrated to their subjects just what would happen to them if they got any ideas about organising regime change at home.
These same absolute monarchies are now busy organising a civil war in Syria, where a secular regime – under which there is a parliament, there is equality between men and women, with women ministers in the government, never mind driving cars – is facing a serious attempt to destroy it and divide Syria for the benefit of the imperialist powers and Israel, so that the US and the UK can then proceed with its planned war against Iran.
For this purpose the despots are now organising a Gulf Union so that the Saudi armed forces can use all of their power without restraint to smash the Bahraini pro-democracy movement, prior to supporting a US attack on Iran.
One can see from the above that they are not only perfectly qualified to wine and dine along with the Queen, they do so as imperialist agents who play a vital role in imperialist policy in the Gulf and the Middle East.
No doubt other despots such as President Rajapakse of Sri Lanka, whose forces murdered the entire Tamil Tiger leadership while they were under a flag of truce in order to surrender, will turn up at the celebrations.
What they all have in common is that they sit on thrones of blood.
In this century the British imperialists have already slaughtered tens of thousands of Iraqis, Afghans and Libyans. They are now looking forward to the despots of the Gulf organising so that the streets of Damascus run with blood.
Our conclusion about the despots’ dinner must be that far from the British monarchy being forced to wine and dine with them, it was a meeting of British master-teachers with their avid and bloodthirsty pupils, and that they thoroughly deserve each other.
However, they will not be having many more such dinners and celebrations, since the greatest crisis ever seen of the world capitalist system is driving forward the world socialist revolution in leaps and bounds!
