Wmd Lies Being Used Against Syria

USING the Bush-Blair WMD tactic, manufactured for use as the cause of war with Iraq, the imperialist powers and Israel were yesterday insisting that Sarin nerve gas was being used by the Syrian government.

There is ‘limited but growing’ evidence that Syrian government troops have used chemical weapons, UK Prime Minister Cameron claimed yesterday.

‘It is extremely serious, this is a war crime,’ Cameron added.

On Thursday, the White House said that US intelligence agencies believed ‘with varying degrees of confidence’ that Syria had used the nerve agent Sarin.

It said the gas had been deployed on a ‘small scale’, but did not give details of where or when it had been used.

Cameron said he agreed with the White House’s warning that the use of chemical weapons would be a ‘red line’ for possible intervention.

Meanwhile, the former Head of the Israeli Military Intelligence and Head of the Institute for National Security, Amos Yadlin, has stressed that Israel’s interest requires the fall of the regime in Syria.

‘Whoever is not aware that the fall of Assad is a positive development for Israel, would be incapable of reading the situation correctly,’ Israeli TV Channel 2 quoted Yadlin as saying in a statement at the conference of the Institute for National Security Studies (INNS) in Tel Aviv.

He reiterated that ‘Israel’s benefit requires weakening and withdrawing Assad, because this would break the Iran, Syria, and Hezbollah axis.

‘This would weaken Hezbollah, then Iran, which will not have any strength in the region, and all this would benefit Israel,’ he added.

Yadlin warned of the Syrian Army’s power and did not rule out war.

He said: ‘We are not talking about a war with Hezbollah or the Hamas movement, but about a tough war, because a war with the Syrian Army means that Scud missiles, and maybe more advanced missiles, would hit Tel Aviv.’

Chairman of the Russian Duma’s International Affairs Committee, Alexei Pushkov, warned of the US intentions behind making accusations against the Syrian government of using chemical weapons.

In a statement posted on Twitter, Pushkov said such accusations could be used as a pretext to start a war against Syria similar to what happened in Iraq.

‘The US is starting a new attack against Syria by accusing it of using chemical weapons, which is the same way Bush used in Iraq, accusing it of possessing nuclear weapons as an excuse for war,’ added Pushkov.

It is believed that the US and UK governments have already made a decision to intervene in Syria, and are seeking to manufacture the opportune moment to strike at the Syrian people.
