REJOICE, rejoice at the great victories that the brave Syrian people are having in their struggle to prevent the Western imperialist powers and their Islamist mercenaries from destroying Syria and recolonising their historic country.
The territory of east Aleppo, where 90,000 residents live, was liberated from the terrorists yesterday, the Russian Defence Ministry has confirmed. This is despite the fact that the terrorist gangs have been fully supported by the Western powers, and financed by Saudi Arabia and Qatar.
Over the past 24 hours, 507 terrorists have left Aleppo and laid down arms. Also, 484 fighters among local residents have been immediately granted amnesty. The previous Tuesday, the Syrian Army’s General Command called on the Islamists to lay down their arms in accordance with an amnesty decree to stop the bloodshed and the bombing of residential areas, as well as attacks on civilians. They refused the offer.
Now, in the liberated areas all Syrian citizens are receiving food and medical assistance! Dozens of tonnes of foodstuffs and medications have been delivered to provide assistance to Aleppo’s civilians and 150 field kitchens have been set up. The Syrian government now holds and defends the city’s western side and at least 60% of the previously terrorist controlled eastern area.
‘During the last 24 hours, thanks to very well-prepared and careful actions, Syrian soldiers were able to radically change the situation,’ said Major-General Igor Konashenkov, a spokesman for the Russian Defence Ministry. ‘Over half of the territory occupied by rebels in recent years in the eastern part of Aleppo has been completely liberated,’ he confirmed.
On Monday alone, the troops seized full control over the al-Sakhour district in eastern Aleppo in what is being described as ‘the biggest defeat’ for the terrorists in the city since 2012. Earlier, Syrian forces had retaken Masaken Hanano, the biggest district in eastern Aleppo, among other advances.
The Syrian victories have brought an eruption of hatred and a rush of action by the allies of the terrorists. The French government has called for a Security Council meeting to demand an immediate ceasefire in Aleppo. French Foreign Minister Jean-Marc Ayrault and his German counterpart Frank-Walter Steinmeier were yesterday discussing the situation in the city together with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov on the sidelines of a meeting in the Belarusian capital, Minsk.
France is also due to convene a meeting of countries opposed to Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, including the United States, the UK, Saudi Arabia and Turkey this week. Paris and the UK government have been backing anti-Damascus IS and Nusrah Front fighters since 2011 when they unleashed their campaign of violence against the Arab country. This campaign has so far claimed thousands of lives and displaced millions in Syria.
The Battle for Aleppo is now moving to its endgame as the Syrian government forces, backed by brave Hezbollah fighters, aim to wrap up the entire operation well before President-Elect Trump of the USA takes office in January. Military experts now consider that the speedy and determined offensive will be able to establish full control over the city before the end of the year.
President Assad will then be in a position to inaugurate peace talks and negotiate the formal surrender of the terrorists from a position of strength, before he considers forming a new government.
The brave fight of the Syrian masses to control and run their own country in the face of the attempts by the imperialist powers to do to Syria what they had done in Libya and Iraq, has great lessons for the working people of the western world and also for the movement of national liberation.
The lesson is that the imperialists who have been beaten in Syria must be destroyed in their home countries by the power of the working class! Likewise, the Syrian victory signals to the Arab peoples that the liberation of Palestine must be next!
