GATE Gourmet locked-out workers yesterday won big support from UNISON members at Hounslow Civic Centre.

Paul Gibbons, a student social worker, said: ‘I get irritated by the UNISON leadership caving in too easily and I am really shocked at what is happening to these ladies.

Housing and community services worker Marie Rowlands said: ‘I was at the UNISON AGM last month where we heard the ladies speak and we voted unanimously to support them in their fight.’

Locked out Gate Gourmet worker Parmjit Bains told News Line: ‘I have heard that the employment tribunals are going to start in June. It’s about time.

‘We have all got a very strong case and I am 100 per cent confident we will win.’

Parmjeet Sidhu added: ‘I am angry the union has stopped paying our hardship money so we have to collect to keep our struggle going.’
