Workers Must Support Corbyn Against The Tory And Labour Witch-Hunters!

THE BOURGEOIS media and Labour’s right wing pro-Zionists have no shame, as their attempts to label Labour leader Corbyn an anti-Semite show – otherwise they would die of it! Behind their onslaught is their fear that the end of the May government is near, and that a Labour government without its traditional capitalist worshipping leadership in charge, after a decade of massive austerity, will not be able to resist a working class offensive determined to restore its living standards.

No tactic is too vile for them in order to try and prevent this happening. They are stopping at nothing to boost Labour’s right wing with the aim of splitting the party, and removing Corbyn.

They would prefer a national government to a Labour government!

However, their current big lie, that Corbyn is an anti-Semite because he condemns Israeli crimes against the Palestinians, is being undermined every time a heavily armed Israeli solder kills or maims a Palestinian man, woman or child, and every time the Israeli government insists that Israel is a Jewish state. In fact, growing numbers of Israeli Jews agree with Corbyn.

There is now a massive opposition inside Israel against the newly-adopted Israeli apartheid law that calls Israel ‘the exclusive nation-state of the Jewish people’. The opposition includes Arabs and the Arabic speaking Druze people, as well as the Christian community, and many anti-Zionist Jews.

Last Sunday, the Catholic Church in the occupied city of Jerusalem condemned the ‘nation-state’ law passed by the Israeli parliament on July 19.

The Latin Patriarchate, which represents the Roman Catholic Church, said in a statement: ‘The law fails to provide any constitutional guarantees for the rights of the indigenous and other minorities living in the country. Palestinian citizens of Israel, constituting 20 per cent are flagrantly excluded from the law.

‘It is beyond conception that a law with constitutional effect ignores an entire segment of the population as if its members never existed,’ the church continued, ‘It sends an unequivocal signal to the Palestinian citizens of Israel, to the effect that in this country they are not at home.’ On Sunday, many hundreds of Arabs and Israelis protested against the law in the port city of Haifa. Last week, Druze leaders filed a petition with the Israeli High Court of Justice against the legislation, calling it an ‘extreme’ act.

Also, an Israeli army military commander from the Druze community, whose members are subject to mandatory draft into the Israeli military, has resigned in protest at the law. Captain Amir Jmall, an officer in Israel’s military, called on the Druze to end their youths’ service, and warned that the Israeli military will suffer greatly as a consequence of the law.

In an open letter to Israeli premier Netanyahu, Capt. Jmall wrote: ‘This morning, when I woke up to drive to the army base, I asked myself, why? ‘Many thoughts ran through my head, I decided to let go and to discontinue serving the country, a country that has a government that takes and does not give back.’ He added: ‘I do not want to continue and I am sure that hundreds more people will stop serving and will be discharged from the army following your decision, Netanyahu, that of you and your government.’

Our message to Corbyn is don’t back down to the pro-Zionists. Defend the Palestinian workers and their Jewish allies as strongly as you defend the British workers. Drive back the Tory and Blairite witch-hunters and get ready to win the class war that will erupt the moment you become the leader of a Labour government pledged to restore the jobs and living standards of all UK workers. This will only be done by fully breaking with the EU and nationalising the banks and the major industries under workers’ management. Also, as the Zionists are well aware, Labour fought the last general election pledging that it would recognise the State of Palestine. It must carry out that pledge.
