A 200-strong demonstration outside Downing Street on Monday evening, demanded that the Burnham-led Labour government stop supporting Israel’s genocide, brutality and starvation in occupied Palestine.

Using same genocide methods as the Israeli Benjamin Netanyahu regime has been using in the Gaza Strip for three years, the Zionist entity is now stepping up its attacks on the Palestinian people in the occupied West Bank, using the techniques of bulldozing, air strikes, starvation and murder.

Italian student Valentina Galathos spoke to News Line on the demonstration, saying: ‘I have come down here to Downing Street  with my friend to protest against the injustices committed by Israel.

‘We have to be active against it!

‘All the elected governments of Europe, including Italy and Britain, are supporting the genocide. I would fully support general strikes in both countries.’

‘Strikes against the genocide are very important. It’s important to be very active to make them see that it is actually a loss for them to make us so angry.’

Valentina’s friend, Juliana Scala said: ‘I am from Italy. My parents are Tamils. In 2009 the Tamil people went through a horrendous genocide, so the Palestinian struggle and the Tamil struggle have always been aligned.

‘Even during the war, the Palestinians gave solidarity to us, so I will always be backing Palestine. We need to mobilise all the workers unions to have general strikes, where every worker is going to stop working.’

Ta’Wa, from Brazil, said: ‘I came to support the Palestinians. To find out which organisation are organising against the Israeli genocide here in Britain.

Referring to the recent stunning victory of Luiz Lula da Silva, over the right wing Trump favourite in Brazil’s presidential election, Ta’Wa said: ‘I have been organising in Brazil for sometime. Initially, Lula governed without the people in the streets, that is why he lost the first round.

‘But the people, youth and workers, leaped over the main campaign and took to the streets, because we knew what was coming. The people were for Lula, but it is much much bigger than that. The people had to take the leadership into our hands.’

Iris Ania, who has her own online platform, said: ‘I am horrified and disgusted at the actions of Israel in Hebron in the West Bank. The violent escalations there are completely unjustified and need to be opposed everywhere.

‘In London we are doing everything we can to mobilise against this escalating Israeli intervention and we call on people of good conscience everywhere to mobilise against them.

‘Ed Miliband’s speech on aligning the UK’s position with international law on genocide, hasn’t been followed through. So far, based on the government actions since the speech was given by Miliband, it has just become a performative claim.

‘We demand that the government follows through on this, take action, implement full sanctions on Israel and isolate the Zionist entity.’
