SYRIA yesterday began an offensive to take back its entire territory launching a new assault on Idlib, the last part of Syria still controlled by terrorists.
Over the last 24 hours, the Syrian Army has taken full control of several strategic hills and regions in Northern Hama, as the government forces, backed by Russian bombers, started fresh military operations in the province.
They ‘attacked the military positions of Tahrir al-Sham al-Hay’at (the Levant Liberation Board or the Al-Nusra Front) and Jeish al-Izza terrorists in Abu al-Zohour axis in Southern Idlib and Northern Hama and engaged in heavy clashes with the militants,’ the Arabic-language al-Masdar News Website reported.
The Syrian Army units also managed to take full control of the towns of al-Bani and al-Jonbara near the town of Kafar Naboudeh and the strategic hill of Tal Osman which is close to several important towns.
Tens of terrorists were killed and dozens more injured, media sources reported.
A source near the front-lines stated that heavy clashes are taking place near the Kafr Naboudeh front; however, he also pointed out that intense firefights have also broken out along the Qal’at Al-Madiq axis.
Meanwhile in the United States, Syrian expatriates protested in front of the UN headquarters in New York to condemn US President Donald Trump’s proclamation on the occupied Syrian Golan Heights claiming that they belong to Israel.
Demonstrators chanted slogans demanding the Golan Heights are returned to Syria and denouncing Trump’s declaration.
They held banners reading: ‘Golan has a Syrian Identity, Syrian History, Syrian Geography and Syrian People!’
