Half of the flat has been damaged by fire. Fortunately no one was injured and the residents self-evacuated before the Brigade arrived. Residents living in the remaining properties also left the building before the Brigade arrived.
‘Station Manager Lee Sparks said: “As I arrived on the scene flames were coming out of the side of the building. Fire crews wearing breathing apparatus worked really hard to bring the fire under control quickly.” Fire crews from Brixton, Clapham, West Norwood, Peckham and Lambeth attended the blaze. The Brigade was called at 11.57 and the incident was over by 13.46.
