Blair launches anti-Brexit plot as Starmer raises remaining in Single Market and Customs Union!

THE wiping out of the Socialist Party and the Republican Party in France, the ruination of the Fifth Republic and the elevation of the National Front’s Le Pen to the brink of the presidency is a product of the havoc that EU membership has brought to France and Europe.

France, second to Germany in the EU pecking order, has been brought down with record unemployment and bankruptcies. Where once there were prosperous industries, there are now ‘rust belts’ with closed industries and pauperised workers and farmers.

This follows on from the ruination of both Greece and Ireland by the crisis of the EU, and the desperate state of the Italian economy with its bankrupt banking system and the desperately indebted states of Spain and Portugal.

The EU’s collapse means that its main function is now to keep the massive numbers of refugees, who are now desperate to get into Europe, at bay following on from the EU’s military campaign that smashed the government of Colonel Gadaffi and smashed the Libyan economy, leaving millions to seek work elsewhere by trying to cross the Med in dinghies.

It is at this moment when the bankruptcy of the EU stares the world in the face, that the wretched war criminal Blair comes forward, having played his part in destroying Iraq and Libya, to mount a campaign that the UK must remain in the ruined EU at any cost.

The bankers and bosses’ ‘above party’ front that Blair is now heading has just published a list of MPs whose seats must be preserved at all costs in the June 8th general election, in order to launch the attempt to keep the UK in the EU.

Blair crony Lord Mandelson, a board member of Open Britain, said: ‘Election candidates of all parties should be demanding that a hard Brexit is rejected and making clear that they will reserve judgement on the outcome until they see whether we get exactly the same trade benefits, as David Davis has promised.’ Mandelson and Blair automatically assume that Labour will not win on June 8th!

Snake Mandelson argues: ‘Nobody has to take a position on this now: they just have to ask the right questions and keep an open mind about the answers.’ Nevertheless, the open minded Mandelson and Co have just published a list of MPs that Open Britain says must be secured in their seats in the forthcoming general election to further the Blair coup attempt.

Among the MPs Open Britain wishes to save for their coup attempt are: Ian Murray – Labour, Edinburgh South; Peter Kyle – Labour, Hove; Ben Bradshaw – Labour, Exeter; Owen Smith – Labour, Pontypridd; Alison McGovern – Labour, Wirral South; Lilian Greenwood – Labour, Nottingham South; Alan Whitehead – Labour, Southampton Test; Liz Kendall – Labour, Leicester West; Wes Streeting – Labour, Ilford North; Catherine McKinnell – Labour, Newcastle North; Phil Wilson – Labour, Sedgefield; Helen Goodman – Labour, Bishop Auckland; Angela Smith – Labour, Penistone and Stocksbridge; Mary Creagh – Labour, Wakefield; Pat McFadden – Labour, Wolverhampton South East.

Yesterday, right on cue, up popped Keir Starmer MP, Labour’s Shadow Secretary of State for Exiting the European Union, setting out Labour’s approach to Brexit. He outlined the Labour approach to Brexit saying it means ‘we will seek: continued tariff-free trade between the UK and the EU, no new non-tariff burdens for business, regulatory alignment and continued competitiveness for goods and services.

‘Whether this is best achieved through reformed membership of the Single Market and the Customs Union or via a bespoke trading arrangement is secondary to the outcome. What matters for jobs, the economy and living standards is that we retain the benefits of the Single Market and the Customs Union.’

Starmer is talking about remaining in the ruined EU, and states: ‘A Labour approach to Brexit means legislating to guarantee that Parliament has a truly meaningful vote on the final Brexit deal.’ This is what the Blairites are preparing for!

However, the working class in the UK is not voting Labour on June 8th to remain in the EU’ single market and its Customs Union. It wants out of the EU, and wants to see a socialist Britain and Europe. It wants bankrupt capitalism put an end to, and the Welfare State and the NHS saved by the nationalisation of the banks and the major industries under workers management, including the drug companies. Workers want to see building land and the building industry nationalised so that millions of council homes can be built to house the homeless and end people sleeping on the streets.

The working class understands that the EU has undermined the jobs, wages and working conditions of workers throughout Europe, and that this can only be put right by uniting the working class of Europe to bring down the EU and replace it with the Socialist United States of Europe. This the Starmers of this world will never agree to!
