This Sunday – EALING CONFERENCE – No more cuts and closures!

EALING CONFERENCE GOES AHEAD: On the eve of the West London Council of Action Conference to defend Ealing Hospital, due to take place on Sunday 27 September, the management at the University of West London announced that they did not want the Conference to go ahead on the basis of it being ”a security threat”.

They considered that doctors, nurses, patients and local people who were all concerned at the hospital departments facing closure and who were attending the conference were a ”security threat”.

The Maternity department has already closed on July 1st. The closure of the children”s department is being brought forward and the A&E is next.

There is growing anxiety in the local area as their well used hospital faces the closure of these department and the conference was called to discuss these issues.

Having accepted the booking since August, five days before the event the West London University management announced that they wished to cancel it.

However the West London Council of Action is determined to proceed and the conference has been relocated to the Dominion Centre, 112 The Green, Southall UB2 4BQ from 2-5pm. All those concerned with defending the hospital from closure, we urge you to come along!
