Cameron poised to send UK troops into Iraq!

PM Cameron is poised to send British troops into Iraq. This is why he is unwilling to recall Parliament after it rejected his motion to give the government the authority to send British troops into Syria – where they would have been acting as allies of ISIS and al-Qaeda’s efforts to overthrow President Assad, whose regime prides itself on its protection of Christians and other religious minorities!

The crisis of the Cameron government’s foreign and home policy is breathtaking!

It rushed in to support ISIS and other similar movements in Syria, to the extent that it is now moaning that up to 900 young British Muslims, who were allowed by his government to proceed to Syria to fight with ISIS against Assad, could return home to the UK to carry on with the struggle here!

There will shortly be a situation where British troops will be fighting British Muslim youth in northern Iraq!

The only solution that Cameron has come up with to this contradiction is to remove their British nationality to keep them from coming home, and to allow British troops to kill them abroad with what clear conscience they can muster.

In his article in the Sunday Telegraph, Cameron states on Iraq: ‘I agree that we should avoid sending armies to fight or occupy . . . True security will only be achieved if we use all our resources – aid, diplomacy, our military prowess – to help bring about a more stable world.’

Britain is no longer capable of sending an army of occupation to Iraq, but it is more than capable of sending large numbers of troops to support the US effort to build up Kurdistan, and to dominate Iraq from the north.

Cameron wants to proceed with this without a vote in parliament, that is why he has not recalled it.

He says of the ‘horrors of an Islamic caliphate’: ‘It is our concern here and now. Because if we do not act to stem the onslaught of this exceptionally dangerous terrorist movement, it will only grow stronger until it can target us on the streets of Britain.’

He adds: ‘So this threat cannot simply be removed by airstrikes alone . . . First, we need a firm security response, whether that is military action to go after the terrorists, international co-operation on intelligence and counter-terrorism or uncompromising action against terrorists at home . . .

‘Here in Britain we have recently introduced stronger powers through our Immigration Act to deprive naturalised Britons of their citizenship if they are suspected of being involved in terrorist activities . . . The position is clear. If people are walking around with ISIL flags or trying to recruit people to their terrorist cause, they will be arrested and their materials will be seized.’

It is to be military action in Iraq and police state action at home; the two go together.

He continues: ‘So we must work with countries like Saudi Arabia and Qatar, the UAE, Egypt and Turkey against these extremist forces, and perhaps even with Iran, which could choose this moment to engage with the international community against this shared threat.’

In fact, Saudi Arabia and Qatar have been financing ISIS and the Libyan militias that have been running riot, while Iran up to this point has been depicted as the number one enemy of humanity for supporting Assad.

The imperialist powers are truly desperate, sinking into a bloody quagmire of their own making after the removal of Saddam and Gadaffi, through wars of intervention that cost the lives of hundreds of thousands.

In fact, in these operations they created a situation where hundreds of thousands of Iraqi Christians had to flee to Syria and other countries.

They then proceeded to organise a war against Syria, in support of movements that were slaughtering Christians there.

Compared to their activities ISIS is small beer. They cannot claim to be the champions of the Christians.

We must oppose the sending of British troops to Iraq, where they will be used to try to reimpose imperialist control.

We must urge the millions of anti-imperialist Sunnis, Shias, Yazidis and Christians to unite and form a revolutionary government in Iraq. This will evict ISIS in 24 hours and prevent Iraq being recolonised.
